Outreach was always known as a prospecting sales tool. It excelled at helping sales reps cast a wider net, and ultimately reach more customers for potential sales. However, it was not known as a tool that helped with closing deals once the rep had a customer's attention.
To expand the business and increase its total addressable market, Outreach leadership was keen on introducing new tools that could assist with the closing motions of the sales process. To do so, the company acquired Sameplan, an early-stage startup focused on productizing the ‘Mutual Action Plan’ (MAP).
